Fees

Whether or not to instruct a solicitor to represent you is an important and difficult decision. We recognise that after reputation, the key consideration is price.
In every case, we will endeavour to give you a fixed quotation during our very first phone call in which we discuss your case. This will be followed up with confirmation in writing so that you have time to consider this before you go ahead. On the rare occasion that a fixed fee is not possible we will give you fee parameters within which your case will fall and you can set a ceiling or budget.
All of our solicitors have over 10 years post qualification experience. Their charge out rate is £225 per hour. In relation to motoring matters this means that the average cost of representing you at a Court hearing to include taking your instructions, preparing for your case, and attending court with you will be between £4,500 and £5,000 & VAT. The cost will vary depending upon whether you have a face to face meeting, and the location of the Court where your case is going to be heard. This will include any travel, attendance, advocacy, letters, e mails and calls. If there are any costs which are not included this will be advised to you so that you are able to make an informed decision about whether to instruct us.
We are confident that you will be absolutely clear about the costs to be incurred in your case from the outset. This is one of the key measures that we have in place to avoid any later complaint by you about our fees. We know how difficult and intimidating it can be as a hearing date approaches and we aim to take as much of the stress as possible out of that process for you, to include being absolutely transparent about our charges.
If you have been called to a Public Inquiry or a DVSA interview, the costs for meeting with you to take your instructions, preparing representations to the Traffic Commissioner on your behalf and then attending the final hearing are a little more complex but we will give you a fee quotation over the telephone with no obligation to proceed.
