New Online Payment System for DVSA Driver Fines
Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has introduced an online system to allow commercial vehicle drivers to pay any fines incurred from roadside checks. The DVSA say that the system is easier to use and instead of using a chip and PIN system at the roadside the fines can be paid via a secure online service on GOV.UK. The system is available 24 hours per day and can also be used to pay court deposits, immobilisation fees and fixed penalties for vehicle defects and other offences, for example driver’s hours rules offences. Drivers with a UK address will still have 28 days to pay although in the case of immobilisation the fine must be paid prior to release of the vehicle.
