Paperless systems – A Good thing?

Increasingly we are asked to supply information on behalf of operators using a digital platform. This is currently creating a huge issue for those who are not used to a digital way of working and have retained paper based systems. There is also disparity across the DVSA and in traffic areas as to what is submitted in an ‘acceptable format’.

Whilst some will open material on a shared drive,  others will not. This makes it difficult to advise operators on the best way of submitting documentation. In any single case we can receive over 50 e mails with single scanned documents in no particular order which are upside down and in duplicate! It seems likely that the DVSA and OTC are experiencing similar issues. This issue will get better before it gets worse as the DVSA plans to stop issuing paper certificates and remove the plating display of certificates on vehicles.
