Introduction of Progressive Safe System (PSS)
The introduction to PSS has provided greater safety to our roads. As an operator in Greater London, you must be aware that a permit to drive a HGV will undergo significant changes in October 2024. As of October 2024 plan, vehicles will now need to be equipped with extra safety equipment such as having a PSS on every vehicle.
The introduction of the latest technological advancements by PSS means that London operators will need to upgrade their current equipment to newer and more sophisticated technology, if necessary to the operator. It is estimated to cost around £1000.00 per vehicle to have a PSS installed.
Make sure to check whether you will need to upgrade your equipment on your vehicles to have a PSS system in place, if you operate in London or Greater London.
